The Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, has trimmed his squad from the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Liberia.

Last week Broos named a 36-player interim squad for the two crucial games in Group K. The 70-year-old Belgian tactician has now cut 13 players to trim the squad to 23 members.

With Morocco already having qualified, the winner of these two games will finish second in the group and advance.

Broos said he believes that they have the squad to do the job and it’s now a matter of the players backing their own abilities.

“Honestly, until now I didn’t think about us not winning,” said Broos

“I’m sure in the qualities that we have that we can beat them. The only thing now is that also the players have to believe.

“It’s up to us now to make them believe into the qualities we have. Just believe in our own qualities. If we believed in our own qualities and we are mentally strong, we will two twice.”

The national team will go into camp on Sunday in preparation for the important qualifiers.

Bafana and Liberia will battle it out next week Thursday at the Dobsonville Stadium in the first game.
