The Bloemfontein Children’s Choir is set to mark 39 years of musical excellence with its Winter Concert on (31/05) at the Cathedral of St Andrew and St Michael. Led by conductor Werner Stander, the performance will showcase a wide programme featuring sacred music, international folk songs, classical pieces, contemporary favourites, and African music. The event will start at 16:00.
The choir recently returned from a successful 2025 Belgian Christmas Tour, where members presented 16 performances across Belgium. Highlights included appearances at the European Parliament in Brussels, concerts in cathedrals and concert halls, and festive Christmas markets performances. They also did collaborations with Belgian performers Lisa Del Bo and Belle Perez, further strengthening the choir’s cultural connection with Belgium.
Concertgoers can expect performances such as Shout For Joy by Franco Prinsloo, Cantate Domino by Charlotte Botha, Disney Movie Showstoppers, Rossini’s Duetto buffo di due gatti, and O Fortuna from Carmina Burana. The programme will also feature a spirited African medley including Shosholoza and other traditional songs.
The Bloemfontein Children’s Choir was established in 1987 by Huibrie Verster and has earned a strong international reputation through performances locally and in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
Tickets are available at the venue and via Webtickets.
