Free State police in Thabong are looking for the driver of a Nissan bakkie with blue and white stripes on the side in connection with theft of petrol worth more than R3 000. Police spokesperson, Mamello Mokhuoane, says the driver allegedly asked the petrol attendant to fill his vehicle and two big grey containers with petrol at Lenyora Engen filling station at Oppenheimer Park on Sunday at about 02:00.
She says the driver of the bakkie instructed the petrol attended to pour fuel in the vehicle and in two containers. He apparently showed money to the attended and said he wants to drive closer to the pay point after which he drove away without paying.
Mokhuoane says the man, wearing an orange T-shirt, fled the scene without paying. She appeals to anyone with information to call their nearest police station.
