The Free State High Court has handed a 20-year prison sentence to a 47-year-old man from Zamdela for murdering his wife.
Police spokesperson, Josephine Rani said the incident happened on Sunday, 28 July 2024, around 18:45. “The couple had returned home when an argument broke out, escalating into a fight. Their children attempted to intervene, but the man later took a knife and stabbed his wife once in the chest. She died at the scene,” Rani explained.
Rani confirmed that Detective Constable Kelebogile Constance Moloi led the investigation, while Advocate Ms. Mthunzi prosecuted the case, resulting in a guilty verdict earlier this week.
