Yet another tragedy in Free State sparks outrage

The following story has graphic details, which could upset sensitive readers and viewers:

News of the gruesome death of the three-year-old Keketso Saule from Hennenman, came with immense rage from many as it has just been a week since another child was mauled to death in the Free State.

The Free State MEC for Health, Ms Montseng Tsiu, was outraged at the news of the child being savaged by the dogs in his neigbour’s yard. He succumbed to severe head injuries and was declared dead on the scene by Free State Health paramedics.

“The Emergency Medical Services crew that attended to this gruesome incident couldn’t hold back their tears and, as a result, have been afforded time off. They will be attending counselling today, Monday 21 November 2022, with the Department of Health’s Social Workers who are deployed to Lejweleputswa,” says Tsiu.

Tsiu added her voice to the growing national calls for Pit Bulls to be removed from communities.

“Each day we learn of yet another death whilst these dogs bring nothing but more sorrow to many homes who lose their loved ones to this vicious and bloodthirsty dog breed. There may be many more unpublished and unaccounted deaths that may have been caused over time by this vicious breed,” said Tsiu.

Tsiu sent her condolences to the family of Keketso Saule, relatives, loved ones and many more that have been touched by this horrific incident.

Tsiu is appealing for the law to take its course in all incidents that implicate this dog breed and appealed for the owners of this breed to surrender these dogs and help to end the carnage.
