• 1997: Nevada Athletic Commission suspends Mike Tyson for biting Holyfield.
• 1960: 74th Wimbledon Mens Tennis: Neale Fraser beats Rod Laver (6-4 3-6 9-7 7-5).
• 1973: 1st US-China basketball game, US collegiates beats Shanghai 96-61.
