Numsa negotiations to resume on Thursday

GALOOME SHOPANE Numsa negotiations will resume again on Thursday as the strike still continues nationwide.

This is according to regional secretary general Andile Zitho.

Zitho says e employer has not disclosed a new offer, but their main concern is that the agreement they reach must include a peace clause.

Zitho says this means that whatever issues are agreed upon in the bargaining process, must not be opened again at the plant level.

He says they endeavour to reach a quick agreement without compromising their demands.

Zitho says if “we agree to the peace clause in will be in direct conflict with labour relation act.”

Numsa is asking for no less than double digit wage increase and says that the strike will be infinite as long as the employer does not bring a better offer to the table.
