SABRINA DEAN – A memorial service will be held on Friday morning for Sand du Plessis High School Principal Robert “Roy” Doubell.
His secretary Kobie van Aswegen told Bloemfontein Courant the ceremony takes place in the school hall from 11am. She says this will be the only service and adds anyone is welcome to come and pay their respects.
Doubell passed away in a hospital in Bloemfontein after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday morning. Van Aswegen describes him as an “outstanding” man who was well loved by colleagues and pupils. She says his sudden death came as a massive shock.
