Bloemfontein is geared for top school sport and other activities with the annual All Girls Festival taking place in the city from 27 – 30 April. The 21st edition of the prestigious tournament will be staged at Eunice Girls’ School.
A total of 23 schools will be competing in six different sporting codes and eight activities over four days.
Hockey will no doubt be the main drawcard for the festival while the girls will also compete in chess, cross-country, netball, squash and tennis. In addition, there will be art, creative writing, debating, drama, marimbas/drumming, public speaking, vocal ensemble, and even Master Chef contests.
“We are expecting 1450 learners, 350 principals, coaches and managers and an estimated of 2000 parents and spectators,” said Stefan van Schalkwyk, Eunice’s Brand Manager and Organiser).
“With that being said, we want to extend a big thank you to our friends at Grey College, for the use of their facilities as well.”
The opening ceremony of this prestigious event will take place on 27 April in the Callie Human Hall of the University of the Free State. The various event will start on Friday 28 April at 07:00 and will continue until Sunday, 30 April at 11:30, after the closing ceremony. Entrance will be free of charge.
