MEC back at work after accident

REFILWE MEKOA – The Free State MEC of Tourism, Economics and Environmental Affairs is recovering well after being involved in a car accident in Welkom last month.
Msebenzi Zwane was travelling with two bodyguards when the vehicle was hit by a truck. One of the bodyguards was left in a critical condition. Zwane said he was fortunate to only have been hospitalised for seven days.
"It was a bad accident but I emerged with only an open fracture, which is closing very well. As you can see I have already returned to work," he said.
Zwane also sent out his thanks to everyone who has been praying for their recovery.
Police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng meanwhile said a case of reckless and negligent driving is still under investigation and no trial date has been finalised.
