Couple accused of murdering Hennenman man to apply for bail

A couple arrested in connection with the murder of a 54-year-old man from Hennenman in the Free State will appear in court today to apply for bail.

Police spokesperson, Mamello Mokhuoane, says Wyne Roslee and his wife Charlotte appeared in the local Magistrate’s Court today in connection with the murder of Wilfred Edward Ernsting.

The couple was arrested at a graveyard in Phomolong on Sunday after Ernsting’s body was found in his bedroom by a suspicious neighbour earlier the same day. The neighbour decided to investigate after he saw a man and a woman driving away from Ernsting’s house with his car.

She says Ernsting’s hands and feet were tied. There was a sheet over his body with blood all over the room.

Police followed up information after the alleged stolen car was spotted in Phomolong. Dogs from the Welkom K9 Unit tracked down the suspects in a graveyard near the place where Ernsting’s abandoned car was recovered.
