Work underway to restore supply to storm affected Trompsburg area

Work is still underway to recover the electricity supply to Trompsburg, Madikgetla, and surrounding rural customers after a severe thunder storm had caused extensive damage to a 66kV transformer feeding these customers at 12:46 on Sunday, 11 March 2018.

Eskom would like to thank customers for their patience and apologises for the inconvenience while the company is working non-stop to recover supply.  It is estimated that supply should be restored by late this evening.

Electricity supply can be switched on without notice.  Consumers are advised to switch off all electrical sockets and appliances and to treat all electrical connections as live and dangerous.
