Women in construction workshop underway

The Free State Department of Water and Sanitation’s Women in Construction workshop is currently underway at the Leslie Monnanyane Hall in Rocklands, Bloemfontein.

OFM News previously reported that the event which aims to increase the number of women in construction and the water sector would be held today.

Close to 30 women in business are at the event, with many of these being in construction and agriculture-related industries. The department’s Moji Kumang, who is presenting the workshop, says through today’s workshop, she hopes that more women will be registered on the department’s supplier database specifically in the construction and water sectors. She also adds that she hopes the workshop will raise awareness to those here on the opportunities available within the sectors mentioned, laws to follow with regards to doing business in these fields, as well as procedures to follow with regards to getting registered on the Free State Department of Water and Sanitation’s website.

This session, which is an interactive one, also doubles as a networking session where those present will share their ideas and discuss challenges they experience in their specific industries as well as opportunities available for collaboration.
