A 44 year old Chinese woman has been arrested at home in Pellissier, Bloemfontein after being found in possession of ten pieces of Abalone.

Police Spokesperson Peter Kareli says the restaurant owner was arrested alongside a Chinese male chef who worked at her restaurant.

He adds Bloemfontein Flying Squad made the arrest after getting information about the woman’s dealings.

"Bloemfontein Flying Squad members received information about a restaurant owner who was selling abalone in Bloemfontein, the information led them to a house in Pellissier, that's when they found 10 pieces of abalone that is estimated at R10 000," he says.

However the 48year Chinese man was found to not being in possession of the legal paperwork to be in the country.
