We will not isolate or victimise workers, says Ace

The Free State Provincial Government says allegations that it is planning to isolate and victimise some workers who participated at the main rally held in celebration of the International May Day on 1st May 2017 in Bloemfontein, is not true.
Premier Ace Magashule said in a media statement today that the Free State Provincial Government respects the rights of all employees, as well as all citizens, to participate in the legal activities of any trade union or political association of their choices.
“The Free State Provincial Government respects the constitutional provisions that guarantees the freedoms of expression, association and political affiliation, amongst others. All workers are urged to desist from allowing themselves to be misled by people peddling lies and driving smear campaigns against the premier and the members of the executive council.
“We urge all our employees to avoid being recruited into campaigns that seek to derail us from achieving a democratic, non-racial, non-sexist, united and prosperous South Africa. All employees are urged to participate freely in all activities which are in line with the Constitution of the Republic as well as the laws of our country,” said Magashule.
