The Wild Olive Estate, north of Bloemfontein, has unveiled its name during a ribbon cutting ceremony this week. These two solid steel signs can be seen in Christo Groenewald Street in the estate – one right across the Sante Retirement Village and the other one across the street from Central Media Park.
Wild Olive Estate, which exists for the past 16 years, was named after the olive trees that grow in the area. Johan Snyman, who represents the developer of the estate, told Bloemfontein Courant that the estate consists of 113 hectares where houses and other properties are built on solid ground.
“We are 40% complete in terms of housing and 80% complete in the estate side. There are some exciting things happening in the estate, of which the Olive Ridge School that is opening next year, is but one. We already have amazing commercial tenants such as Central Media Group, CRC and Parexel.
As the name Wild Olive implies, there are quite a number of wild olive trees growing here, and like the wild olive tree, Wild Olive Estate managed to grow through hard times and is still growing,” he said.
Wild Olive Estate is situated north of the upgraded Northridge Mall.
