On their way to work, Kabelo Mabogane, Tapelo Jafta and Kaizer Sonkwala, were spotted rocking self-made protective rain gear made from garbage disposal bags.
The trio was making their way through the rain on foot, with one umbrella for the unexpected showers on Wednesday 24 March 2021.
According to Boitumelo Makhobe, forecaster for the South African Weather Services, the recent rain in central South Africa is nothing odd. There is an 80% chance of rain today, which should clear up by the weekend.
“The cause for the sudden rain is not unusual but can be unlikely. It is caused by the tropical moisture which is moving towards the central regions of South Africa.”
