GALOOME SHOPANE Bloemfontein residents who have been experiencing water shortages and interruptions have been asked to be patient.

Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality’s Qondile Khedama confirmed this and says this is because of maintenance at Maselspoort at their main supplier reservoir.

Khedama has urged citizens to use water minimally until the situation is back to normal.

“We started the process on the 17th, that is yesterday, and we said it will last for thirty-six hours. I’m sure most of our reservoirs will start picking up from tomorrow morning and the situation will be fully restored some time during the day. So we are asking for the patience of residents and businesses,” says Khedama.

The municipality has issued a statement apologising for the inconvenience.
