WATCH: Tributes to Mandoza

The news of the passing of  South African Kwaito legend, Mandoza, shocked the nation when it broke on Sunday.

Journalist Sthembiso Sithole broke the news that the 38-year-old artist had passed on after a battle with brain cancer on his Twitter page.

Farewell messages started flocking in on social media as soon as his family confirmed his passing with Eye Witness News the same afternoon.

Mandoza, whose real name is Mduduzi Tshabalala, gave South Africa countless hits with a career spanning over 17 years.

His 2 000 hit single, “Nkalakatha”, became a somewhat national anthem and even today still has the power to bring life to any dance floor.
