There is a heavy police presence this morning in the small farming town of Senekal in the Eastern Free State, where a 52-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Senekal Magistrate’s Court on charges of malicious damage to property and public violence.
The charges come after an incident on Tuesday 6 October 2020 in Senekal in which a police vehicle was torched. This happened during the appearance of the two suspects who were arrested in connection with the murder of a young farm manager of the Eastern Free State, Brendin Horner.
Van Riebeeck street has been barricaded yet things remain calm at this stage.
Bloemfontein Courant is currently on the scene to report on this developing story.
