The vervet monkey

The Bloemfontein SPCA has rescued a vervet monkey from the Koffiefontein settlement.  It was tied to a pipe which ran between a corrugated house and a steel pole, and was about three metres from the ground.

The monkey had to sit on the pipe day and night.  During a visit by the SPCA it was discovered that there was no food or water available for the animal. It was confiscated and taken to the SPCA where it is safe for now but it will have to be moved to a NSPCA-approved rehabilitation centre. To be able to do this the SPCA needs help form loyal supporters and requests people to consider donating to the SPCA as contributions will cover the cost of relocating the monkey. Donations can be  deposited directly in to the SPCA account:  Absa Bank.  Account Name:  SPCA.  Account number: 9279102644. Branch Code: 632005.  Or you can SMS the word DONATESPCA to 40580 which will donate R20 towards the monkey’s safety.
