UPDATE: UFS call operations back to normal after lightening strike

The University of the Free State has confirmed that connectivity in its call center and helpdesk services have been restored.

This comes after a lightning strike occurred on Thursday which affected the University’s telephonic communication channels, which in effect disabled all telephonic communication at the Bloemfontein and Qwaqwa campuses.

Registered students were urged to register online, while walk-in registrations also continued. The matter has been resolved by the University’s Information Communication Technology department.

Students are now able to call the 051 401 9111 number to make inquiries.
