Bloemfontein is in the fortunate position to host the Springbok match against Portugal on 19 July 2024 and Urth will be hosting a great Butcher’s Banquet on the Friday evening before the match.

The Butcher’s Banquet will be serving six courses for a culinary delight guaranteeing a great meat-eating experience for all.

Each course is paired with the appropriate wine from the Fat Bastard Stable. Guests can look forward to a meat buffet that they will remember.

The trade marketing manager for Fat Bastard, Nico Davel, will personally be demonstrating the wine pairing.

Not only is Davel an expert in his field, he is also an absolute delight and his sense of humour is top-tier, promising entertainment for the guests of the evening. Local artist, Zak Steyn, will provide music for the evening.

“We were always keen to create a medieval-style event in the winter when everyone is going hunting and the whole of the Free State is in meat mode. We are getting so many requests from people about where to take the out-of-town guests for the weekend, that we decided to make sure we put the best foot forward and delight local and out-of-town guests with our own unique medieval meat experience, Free State Style,” said director of Urth, Risna Opperman.

The Butcher’s Banquet will be happening on 19 July at Urth. A cash bar will be available. Early Bird tickets for tables of 10 as well as individual tickets will be available till end of June, tickets are available on https://www.urth.co.za/event/butchersbanquet/
