Twenty-three-year-old Romario Smith of Heidedal, Bloemfontein, has recently launched his debut album, Organic Sounds. The launch took place on Saturday, 27 October 2018 at Spotlight Club in Heidedal. Smith, who lives for music, started from humble beginnings as a self-taught keyboardist. “I started producing, borrowing my landlord’s laptop and would daily produce songs to sharpen my music production skills,” Smith said.
The launch of his album included local DJs and vocalists in support of building a name for local artists. Smith, who is currently studying Sound Engineering at Practical Audio Solutions (PAS) Media Academy, said he is excited about the launch of his first album, which comprises eleven original self-produced songs. “I am excited and optimistic about my first release. I believe my sound is good enough to compete in the music industry.
People can anticipate nothing but good music. I incorporated different sub genres under the massive house music genre, which range from soulful, afro and deep tech house music,” Smith added.
Smith is known in the music industry as Uncle R and can be followed on social media at Facebook Uncle-R and Instagram uncler_sa. For more information or to buy his new debut album, Organic Sounds, call or WhatsApp him on 074-815-7403. – Pierce van Heerden
