UFS looking forward to prestigious graduation

The University of the Free State’s April graduation ceremonies will be held in the Callie Human Centre at the Bloemfontein campus from 9 to 13 April 2018.
On Monday 9 April 2018 the Faculty of Health Sciences’ graduation for all BSc Nursing qualifications and advanced diplomas will take place.
The ceremony will start at 09:00 and thereafter the Theology and Religion faculty will present all certificates, diplomas, Bachelor’s degrees, and Honours degrees. Prof Anita van der Merwe, Executive Head: Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Stellenbosch will be the guest speaker.
At 14:30 the ceremony for the University Access Programme for Advanced Certificates and Diplomas in Education, Higher Certificates in Economic and Management Sciences, and Higher Certificates in the Humanities will start. This ceremony will take place at the University of the Free State’s South Campus. Ms Tshegofatso Setilo, Assistant Director from the South Campus will be the guest speaker.
On Tuesday 10 April 2018 at 09:00 the Faculty of Law will celebrate all diplomas and Bachelor’s degrees, excluding the School of Financial Planning Law. Bachelor of Laws qualifications completed at the South Campus will also be awarded during this ceremony. Mr Zola Valashiya, Chancellor’s Distinguished Alumni Awardee (Cum Laude Category) and Projects and Campaigns Manager: Corruption Watch, will be the guest speaker.
Thereafter the Faculty of Education’s ceremony for all certificates, diplomas, and Bachelor’s degrees, excluding the School of Open Distance Learning will take place at 14:30. UFS will welcome Ms Chantelle Pretorius, Miss Deaf South Africa, to come and speak to the graduates.
The graduation ceremony for the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences for all Bachelor’s degrees will be held on Wednesday 11 April 2018 at 09:00 where Professor Anthony Turton, Affiliated Professor: Centre for Environmental Management at the University of the Free State, will address the Astudents. At 14:30 all diplomas and Honours degrees will be presented, with Prof Turton as keynote speaker.
On Thursday 12 April 2018 the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences (including Business School) will present all its certificates, diplomas, Bachelor’s degrees and Honours degrees. Brand Pretorius, Former CEO of McCarthy Limited, will address the students with his business background. At 14:30 BCom degree and BCom Honours students will be honoured for all their hard work. The guest speaker for this graduation ceremony will be  David Abbey, Chancellor’s Distinguished Alumni Awardee (Cum Laude Category) and Deputy President: Association of Black Accountants in Southern Africa.
On Friday 13 April 2018 the Faculty of the Humanities Bachelor’s degree students will get recognition at 09:00. Nthabeleng Rammile, Vice-Chairperson of UFS Council, will speak to students. At 14:30 all certificates, diplomas, and Honours degree students will receive their degrees. Hannes van Wyk, actor and presenter on Kwela, will be the guest speaker.
