UFS (17) students out on free bail

The 17 students who were arrested on the University of the Free State’s Bloemfontein campus yesterday, have been released on free bail.

They have to be back in the city’s Magistrate’s Court on November 15. They were arrested for illegal gathering.

They’ve been released on three conditions – they must arrive at court on November 15, they may not commit any offence until then, and they have to inform their legal representative should they leave the Bloemfontein area.
