UCT to visit Bloemfontein

The University of Cape Town (UCT) will be visiting Bloemfontein as part of an ongoing engagement programme facilitated by the university’s Development and Alumni Department.
According to a statement by the university, the event is an opportunity for stakeholders, including alumni, corporate representatives and friends, to engage with UCT representatives and gain an understanding of the latest developments at the university.
The cocktail event will take place at 17:30 on 28 May 2019 at the Protea Hotel Bloemfontein in Nelson Mandela Drive. UCT alumnus, Judge Dennis Davis, will be talking at the event on Higher Education for a Democratic South Africa.
UCT will be hosting similar events throughout the country during the year.
According to Fahim Docrat, Legacy Manager in UCT’s Development and Alumni Department, the university is very much an engaged institution and very aware of the challenges but also the immense opportunities in South Africa.
“Critical to our vision for the future is an approach of consultation and listening to feedback from our alumni and friends. This visit is about sharing updates but also about receiving feedback and incorporating what we hear into our strategy for the university.
“Our alumni and friends are spread all over the world and we aim to continue to grow our footprint maintaining our standing as the number one university in Africa,” said Docrat.
