Noluthando Nofemele (46) appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court last week where she and her company, Zimvo Trading CC, both were found guilty as charged.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Zweli Mohobeleli, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) reported fraud and contravention of the Tax Administration Act 28 of 2011 to the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation Unit in 2022 after the accused had submitted false tax returns.
“On 23 November 2022, Noluthando Nofemele was served with summons to appear before court. Zimvo Trading CC was sentenced to a fine of R300 000 which is wholly suspended for five years,” said Mohobeleli.
He added that Nofemele was sentenced to a fine of R300 000 or three years imprisonment, which is wholly suspended for five years. She was also ordered to pay SARS R701 591 by January 2029.
