Two police officers from Petrus Steyn in the Free State were recently rewarded with certificates of appreciation after they made a combined 246 arrests during the 2015/2016 financial year.
Tarzan Xaba was rewarded after he made 141 arrests in the last twelve months, Motelo Motaung made 105 arrests during the same period. They were presented with the certificates during a small ceremony at the Sederhof Building in Bethlehem today. Police spokesperson, Zweli Mohobeleli says the two has set the standard for other police officers to follow.
“These arrest include mostly include liquor act offences, traffic act offences and other arrests such as assault. We are immensely proud of them. Acting Bethlehem Cluster Commander Brigadier Mapulane Mbeloane indicated today that she expects the same from others. We are hoping that the energy of these two officers spread to others as well,” says Mohobeleli.
