Manyoni who was the mayor until the 2016 Municipal Elections, was sworn in with new executive mayor Olly Mlameli.

Manyoni is not expected to hold this position for long. Political speculation has it that Manyoni was only sworn in today until he will be redeployed by the ANC.

Party provincial spokesperson Thabo Meeko said Manyoni’s deployment will be discussed once all municipalities in the province have completed their election processes.
