Two die in R721 accident, several injured

The road carnage that involved a Free State Provincial EMS ambulance on the R721 between Vredefort and Kroonstad on Wednesday morning 11 December claimed two lives while several people have been injured.

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) spokesperson, Sipho Towa, says the Provincial Ambulance collided with a private car this morning. He says during the time of this collision, the ambulance was transporting a patient from the Parys Hospital to the Boitumelo Hospital in Kroonstad. He says two people have been critically injured and two sustained moderate injuries.

Towa says the injured have been transported to Boitumelo Hospital and Kroon Private Hospital in Kroonstad for medical care. This is a developing story.
