The Free State police in Ventersburg have arrested a 37 year old man following a fatal shooting incident that took place at a liquor establishment.
According to police spokesperson, Palesa Thabana, the incident occurred Saturday (11/10) night, “On arrival at the scene, members discovered an African male lying unresponsive near the entrance of the liquor establishment. While on the scene, police were further informed about another victim who was found lying motionless inside the tavern after he was allegedly shot by the same suspect. The two African males aged 29 and 41 were pronounced dead on the scene,” Thabana explained.
Palesa further explained that the shooting followed an altercation between the suspect and the two victims during a game of pool. “According to information, the trio was playing a game of pool when an argument erupted between them. It is alleged that the suspect was attacked by the two male victims. The suspect then allegedly went outside, and upon his return to the tavern, he took out a firearm and allegedly shot both victims and fatally wounding them.”
The suspect was arrested and is set to appear before the Ventersburg Magistrate’s court today on two counts of murder.
