Two alleged drug dealers caught red-handed

A man and woman have allegedly been caught red-handed by Welkom POP Reaction Team members.

While the country was voting on 8 May 2019, members of the Welkom POP Reaction Team were busy with their routine patrols in Rammolotsi when they received a tip-off about someone allegedly selling drugs from a certain house in the area.

The two arrested suspects.

“Members went to the mentioned address and found a man and woman busy preparing dagga pokes and nyaope, and were immediately arrested. The police confiscated 5 litres of dagga with weight 0,308 kg , 9 litres of loose dagga, weight 1,120 kg, 20 pokes of dagga, weight 0,0308 kg and plastic of nyaope, weight 0,104 kg  and R1 195 cash,” said police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Thakeng.

Both suspects, a 27-year-old man and 30-year-old woman were detained in Viljoenskroon and will soon appear in court for dealing drugs.
