Five Bloemfontein businesses recently took hands and blessed learners from Tswellang Special School in the area with wheelchairs.

According to the principal, Verna Vorster, the school has been running their wheelchair project for some time now in order to create awareness of the opportunity for the Bloemfontein community to sponsor wheelchairs for learners.

Vorster explained to Bloemfontein Courant that Tswellang relies on donations for the wheelchair needs of learners. “By sponsoring a wheelchair, the donor is creating an opportunity for a learner to participate in various school activities as well as in his or her learning environment.”

Speaking to the media, she said that everything that they had achieved thus far is by the Grace of God and she is so thankful that His presence can be seen everywhere on the school premises. She said the wheelchair project will continue in 2021, with an added opportunity as donors can also donate a walking frame.

She added that she believes once a person has touched the lives of children, their own lives will never be the same.
