Two young men are expected to appear before Trompsburg Magistrate’s Court for rape.
Police spokeperson Ikobeng Hlubi says on Friday the Trompsburg Police arrested two males in connection with a rape case. The incident took place at Noordmanville, Trompsburg in the evening, whereby the victim (22) was on her way back home. Whilst at the gate she came across the two known suspects.
“According to the police records the suspects Ikaneng Mothibi (22) and Teboho Mvundla (17) grabbed the victim and dragged her to the toilet. It is alleged that in the toilet the suspects first strangled and undressed the victim, thereafter took turns in raping her. They then fled the scene,” she says.
Hlubi adds that while the victim was crying, she was heard by a witness who called the police. A rape case has since been opened and after investigation the two suspects were arrested.
She says the case has been transferred to the Trompsburg Unit.
