Trial date set in fraud and corruption case against senior police officers


The trial date for the seven Free State police officials, including a finance admin clerk accused of fraud and corruption of more than R5 million, has been set for July 31.

This is according to Hawks spokesperson, S’fiso Nyakane.

The Hawks earlier said that the officials – Mpho Selesho, Litaba Dodo, Mokale Madumise, Jacob Mokheti, Moratoe Motsoeneng, Patrick Sedio and Klaas Sereco – along with business consultant, Jack Tladi, are all facing charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering.

Hawks spokesperson, Philane Nkwalase, said the suspects allegedly made fraudulent transactions of more than R5.2 million between April 2015 and September 2016.

They were previously granted bail of R5 000 each.
