Minister of Transport, Dipuo Peters, will on Saturday close the transport month campaign in the Free State Province.
Peters will host the 2015 October Transport Month closing ceremony at Thusanong Park in Ladybrand. Spokesperson of the Department of Police, Roads and Transport, Hillary Mophethe, says Peters will be joined by her Deputy Minister, Sindisiwe Chikunga, and MECs from other provinces.
“There will be an Imbizo at 10 o’clock at Thusanong Park. The Imbizo is about the road safety campaign where communities’ members will be asking questions on road safety issues and there will be a response from the minister and other MECs.”
Mophethe says the closing ceremony will be used to heighten the implementation of the 365-Days Road Safety Programme whereby law enforcement operations will heighten all major roads across the country. She says traffic will be managed for motorists and occupants to adhere to road safety regulations throughout the year.
