#TourismTuesdays acknowledged learners with disabilities

Kopano Protective Workshop was acknowledged by the Department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (Destea) on their #TourismTuesdays post.

According to Destea, the Tourism Support and Development Unit paid a working visit to the workshop located in Transnet Freight Retail in Bloemfontein.

The association currently works with 80 learners with disabilities who create craft products that can be sold to earn extra income to support themselves.

“Kopano Protective Workshop is an association of and for persons living with disabilities. The association works with young people/learners with intellectual inabilities who may not be accommodated at higher institutions.”

Some of the activities at Kopano Protective Workshop include manufacturing of crafts, sewing, social work services, and computer skills, among others.
