Spitskop Total Manager, Dolf Westcott, was held at gunpoint and robbed by three men at the back of Checkers Langenhoven Park this morning. The 57-year-old garage manager said he feared for his life and that he is grateful to be alive. He was robbed of R1450 in small change on his way back from the bank.
“I’m very grateful to the people that walked by. It was two white guys and a black lady in a car. If it wasn’t for them I would have been shot. I say thank you to them from the bottom of my heart,” said Westcott.
The suspects managed to flee and the Chairperson of the Community Policing Forum, Pieter Myburgh, as well as the police have asked the community to be on the lookout for a light blue Toyota Corolla with registration number CGM 572 NC. Bainsvlei police say a case has been opened and the matter is under investigation.
