Netcare 911 spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe, says the Netcare2 helicopter dispatched for life-threatening emergencies airlifted a four-year-old girl from the hot air balloon accident scene between 08:30 and 09:00. More than ten people were on board the hot air balloon. Mathe says an emergency care practitioner and a critical care assistant are permanently available in the well-equipped helicopter. The injured girl was flown to a facility catering for children under the age of 16, who suffer from serious physical trauma. Mathe did not divulge the “We cannot comment on the girl’s injuries. We can only confirm that she has sustained serious injuries.”
