• 1991: The International Cricket Council agrees to grant full membership to the United Cricket Board of South Africa, which will allow South African players to participate in test matches by the end of 1991.
• 1999: The New Zealand rugby team beats SA 28-0 in a tri-nation match in Dunedin.
