Three men aged between 19 and 26 are expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for the murder of a 22-year-old man at Phase 4, Bloemside, Free State police said.
On Monday, spokesperson Colonel Thandi Mbambo said that the deceased Patrick Kagiso was stabbed to death with a sharp object on Sunday at around 2.30am.
“It is alleged that the deceased was a member of BTK gang and left it to join a Roma gang. According to the information received, BTK members approached the unsuspecting victim and asked him why he left the group. A scuffle ensued between them and the victim was stabbed to death by a group,” said Mbambo.
Two men were arrested at the scene with the assistance of the community. The third man was arrested later by public order police members who followed intelligence-driven information and arrested him at his home in Phase 4.
