Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision at the intersection of President Paul Kruger and Malherbe Avenue at around 22:00.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the intersection obstructed with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles.

Medics stabilised the injured at the scene before they transported them to a local hospital for the care that they required.

After the injured were examined it was found that one person had sustained serious injuries while two others escaped with minor injuries.

Netcare 911 spokesperson, Chris Botha, says it looks as if the person that sustained the more serious injuries hit the windscreen during the collision.

The exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events is still speculative and will form part of police investigation.
