Three bodies left unrecognisable following fatal accident on N6

The Free State Department of Health’s Forensic Pathology has confirmed the completion of all post-mortems related to the N6 fatal accident that took place last week. According to the Free State Health Department spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi three bodies were severely injured and left unrecognisable.

“Three bodies suffered significant damage and are currently unrecognisable. The South African Police Service (SAPS) has taken fingerprints from all bodies for identification purposes. The remains have been safely transported back to Bloemfontein for secure storage. In collaboration with Prasa, arrangements have been made for families to identify their loved ones,” Mvambi said.

Mvambi added there are two patients who are recovering at the Pelonomi Tertiary Hospital’s Trauma Unit.
