Thousands expected at ANC’s manifesto launch in Kimberley

The ANC in the Northern Cape expects its provincial manifesto launch, to be attended by thousands of people from across the province.

ANC’s Provincial Secretary, Zamani Saul, says they are expecting more than 20 000 supporters on Saturday at the Galeshewe Stadium in Kimberley.

He further explains that they will be targeting all four municipalities that are currently controlled by the opposition parties in the province.

“The keynote address will be given by the Deputy Secretary General Comrade Jessie Duarte. Some of the National Executive Committee (NEC) members that we are today expecting are comrades Lynne Brown and Rob Davies among others. This day marks a turning point in our local government elections campaign. We are going to intensify our activities from here. We are actually hoping to win all 32 municipalities in the Northern Cape. We believe we are on the right track to get a minimum 70% election victory.”

Meanwhile, Saul clarifies that the ANC in the Northern Cape has not yet made their decision regarding their stance on pledging support for President Jacob Zuma following the Constitutional Court’s judgment on Nkandla.
