Following the report of the attack, police launched an intensive manhunt with the assistance of the local farming community, private security partners, and other stakeholders.
“Within hours, thirteen suspects — eleven men and two women — were traced and arrested. During the operation, police also recovered twenty-two (22) stolen sheep, a firearm, a minibus, and various household items,” Earle confirmed.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Heilbron Magistrate’s Court soon on charges including murder, attempted murder, rape, robbery, and stock theft.
