There’s hope after all

Peaceful protest at MMM on 24 August 2021

The Mangaung Service Delivery Forum (MSDF) is to meet with Centlec and the Mangaung Metro Municipality (MMM) regarding the reply on the memorandum they had delivered to the MMM on 24 August 2021.

This as the seven-day deadline has come to an end. Potso Motoko, chairperson of MSDF, said they are hopeful that today’s meeting will have a positive outcome. If not, they will continue with the shutdown as planned.

MSDF embarked on a peaceful protest to Centlec, the Free State Department of Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (Destea) and MMM to give the institutions a memorandum of things the residents of Mangaung were unhappy with. They asked for a sound reply within seven days and warned if it should not happen, they would gladly shut down Mangaung.

Sello More, the acting City Manager, promised that the MMM would reply by seven days.

This is a developing story.
