The troubled heart

Have you ever noticed how easily your eyes are drawn to the shape of a heart? No matter where we go, symbols of the heart will always draw our attention. We listen attentively when people tell us stories of the heart. Maybe the person’s heart was broken by someone, or maybe they lost something. Whatever it is that makes us listen, the heart still stays a very important part of our daily lives.

Jesus says in John 14:1 that we should not let our hearts be troubled. We believe in and trust in God, and we should do the same with Jesus. There is nothing more rewarding than to share your heart’s troubles and joys with Him.
When Jesus listens to us there is no hypocrisy or judging. Jesus sees into our hearts. He knows when we are sincere towards others. It is easy for us to pretend we care for someone, but we can never hide the truth from Jesus.
He says in verse 6 that no one can go to The Father if it is not through Him. So let’s decide to depend on Jesus for the healing of our hearts, and not on people who can disappoint and deceive us.
