In 2017, a 19-year-old girl was getting ready for her matric farewell. She waited for a make-up artist who did not pitch.
Disappointed, she decided to go anyway but that day will always be the starting point of when she decided to become a make-up artist and that is where Royal Face Flip was born.
Today, the 25-year-old entrepreneur and Agricultural Management graduate Kamogelo Mankuroane has used that evening as inspiration to never make another person go through the agony of not feeling and looking their best for any occasion.
because I have been in a position when I was left disappointed and not happy with my face.
Working with people’s faces means that you know how much damage it can do to a person’s confidence and the way they see or feel about themselves therefore that’s why I always make sure I leave my clients satisfied,” expressed Mankuroane.
She added that although beauty means different things to many people, for her it is about the quality or group of qualities in a person that gives pleasure to the mind.
Mankuroane specialises in all make-up looks and enjoys creating content on her social media platforms, but there is more to her than what meets the eye.
“I love looking beautiful, dressing up for the camera. It makes me feel so good about myself. I am also passionate about agriculture which is very different from the beauty and fashion industry but like I said, I am a jack of all trades.
There are so many layers to me.” She has worked with local brands such as Get It Bloemfontein Magazine, and believes that Bloemfontein is a great city for a make-up artist like herself.
“The competition is not as high as in other cities like Johannesburg or Pretoria. It’s easy to work around such a city because it allows you to grow at your own time and pace without the pressure of increasing charges or loosing clients to other make-up artists,” she said.
