There is a change in people when the year draws to an end. We get irritable due to exhaustion. The only thing that keeps us going is the knowledge that the Christmas holidays are near. What is the biggest gift we can give our children? Many of us will spend vast amounts on gifts for the ones we love. Sometimes these gifts are meant as peace offerings. Maybe we are working so hard to afford these gifts and holidays that we have no time left to spend with our children. Our time and unconditional love is the greatest gift we can give them. Accepting them for who they are, helping them to discover their purpose. Most important, spending time teaching them daily about God’s great love for them. He gave us His only son so we can be free and have a real relationship with Him. This is the gift we should be focussing on. Earthly gifts can never replace the emptiness our children will feel if we don’t teach them that Jesus is the greatest gift of all. Our children long for us as parents to spend time with them, just as Our Father wants us to spend time with Him this festive season. Remember, He is the only gift that really matters. Blessings.
